Why I love ƽ: As a political science and global development studies student, I’ve found ƽ’s ability to bring global perspectives to a small-town setting truly remarkable. Despite its location in the “middle of nowhere,” the college connects students to the wider world, through international student cultural events, global speakers, and, in my own experience, courses like Jewish Life in Early 20th Century Europe, which concluded with travel to Vienna, Krakow, and Budapest. At the same time, ƽ fosters meaningful connections with the local community. As a musician, I’ve been fortunate to be invited by faculty and staff to perform around town, including at local restaurants and regional bluegrass festivals, opportunities that reflect the college’s strong sense of place and community engagement.
