SHAW Part-Time Post-Doctoral Therapist
Birant (He/Him) joins ΢ÃÜÆÆ½â as a post-doctoral therapist. Throughout the therapy process, Birant works to create a nonjudgmental, collaborative, and trust-based relationship, which helps support clients in vulnerable self-reflection of thoughts and feelings, foster self-worth, and improve quality of life. His general interests include focused treatment of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, identity exploration, life transitions, multicultural concerns, body image disturbance/concerns, eating disorders, and goals related to sports performance.
Birant’s personal and professional values closely align with a strong emphasis on social justice, cultural humility, inclusion, and advocacy. Birant recognizes clients as the expert of their own lived experiences and strives to provide a respectful environment for clients of all identities and backgrounds.
Birant received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Iowa. He completed an APA accredited internship at the University of Iowa’s University Counseling Services, with a Clinical Emphasis in Sport Psychology.
